Amémé Returns to the Island

Born and raised in Benin, West Africa, Hubert Sodoganji or better known as AMÉMÉ has carved out a unique path in the world of electronic music. Blending Afro infused rhythms with deep house synths. His DJ sets are known to be energetic and filled with determination. Influenced by his African heritage, AMÉMÉ’s music is more than just sound, it's a reflection of where he comes from. His DJ sets are known for their uplifting energy, percussive grooves, and a distinct rhythm that speaks to both the dance floor and the soul.

As a child, AMÉMÉ was deeply influenced by his older brother who had moved to France in 2005 and introduced him to French house music. Over the summer, he found himself buried in house music. What started as just a typical brother's behaviour led him to begin playing at small parties. AMÉMÉ has then built a global following through his signature blend of afro-house.

Over the years, AMÉMÉ has built an international following, performing on stages all across the world. However, he still remains deeply connected to his roots, which led him to launch One Tribe, a global collective that portrays AMÉMÉ in three different pillars of his identity : Music, Art, and Fashion. In 2017, located at the heart of Brooklyn, One Tribe has expanded its presence to what's known as a thriving record label.
